Coronado Island

One day before the summer, I was checking my e-mails and got one from Maddie Riggs, ONE OF MY BEST FRIENDS!!!!! She asked me what I was doing July 14th- the 21st. When I asked my mom, she said my family gets home the 14th but the rest of that week I didn't have anything. And that was like a miracle because I was SOOOOO busy over the summer, even when I wasn't on vacation. Anyway, so I replied back and told her that I wasn't busy. When she replied(in all caps) that I was invited to come to Coronado Island with her!!!!!! Then we called eachother to find out the details. After our moms talked and all that stuff, my mom told me I might have to fly to Coronado to meet them there, because the day they drove there, was the day we came home from Lake Powell.
So, about halfway into the summer before my family and I left for Lake Powell we had figured out that I would take my suitcase over to the Riggs house so I wouldn't have to take it on the plane, and when we got home from Lake Powell I would fly there, and Maddie's family would pick me up. That's what happened. It was kinda scary cause I flew on the plane by myself, but it wasn't that bad. Then at the airport I waited for a minute for them to pick me up. After that we went back to the house and I unpacked my stuff.Later that day we went to a place called the tidepools, which was really cool. we also got soaked by a huge wave, and took so many pictures that my camera was almost out of battery,(which I forgot to pack my charger). The next day, we went to the San Diego Zoo, the biggest in the world! It was so fun. We rode on a safari bus tour thing, and these carts that take you up in the air above the whole zoo. It was so cute the little monkeys were wearing diapers and slept in little cribs and stuff. The orangutuans were really funny. One was really clode to the glass and were making faces at us. After we left the zoo we went to the beach. The waves were okay, but not the best. Then we went back to the zoo, and there was this interesting show and an artist was flipping paint everywhere on this canvas, but in the end, it turned out to be an animals face. The next couple days we walked around the island, took pictures, and went to the beach. One day we went to this huge mall, that was really cool. At thee beach we would splash around in the water, play in the sand, body surf, and boogie board. One day we went to pick up Maddie's cousins. One night we stayed up so late, and I guess we were talking to loud that a creepy old lade came over and told us to "keep it down" so basically we are sitting there and this lady wearing a trench coat that we don't even know wallks in and tells us to shut up so she can go to bed. But, that was the only creepy thing that happened. One night we were walking around the island barefoot, and we ran into these kids who lived there. They were really quiet except for this one kid, who talked nonstop. Another night we went to this place called Seaport Village, ehich was a huge shopping place. At this candy store we bought gum cigarettes. They were really funny. Coronado was the best!!!!!!!! It was so beautiful, and the weather was so nice. I am so glad that I could go.
